This year Little Friends Preschool welcomes local calligrapher and hand letterer, Justine Ma, as our artist in residence. Justine is a talented local artist, and we are thrilled to have her work with our students! Check out her Instagram feed and her website for more information on her work.
The students will be guided through a name plaque project. The children will begin by tracing their names, which will be laser-cut and painted by each child before being mounted to solid wood boards to keep as a treasured keepsake.
The finished art projects will be showcased at an art show in the preschool’s lower level on April 18th from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. Justine will be in attendance.
Little Friends’ acclaimed artist-in-residence program began in 2014 using money raised by our casino fundraiser. It is a unique initiative designed to connect our preschool with Edmonton’s vibrant arts community. Our previous artist-in-residents include Jason Blower, Charlene Tootooosis and Amanda Schutz.
